The tournament was opened by Yusuf Gafurov and Sergey Serpitovsky. They had a two-round fight in the weight category up to 63.5 kg.
Gafurov went forward from the very first seconds and immediately scored two takedowns, instantly taking Serpitovsky’s back. Yusuf methodically threw punches and threatened with a choke. As a result, Gafurov caught the neck and won an early victory, for which two minutes were enough for him.
